Virtual Classrooms are Here! Teens can Participate In Classroom Phase Now and Drive Later!

Class Information

At Ride Chicago Driving School, we understand that there is no substitute for being behind the wheel as much as possible. It is truly the most effective way to learn how to drive. We offer both Teen Drivers Ed and Adult Driving Lessons.

Teen Program

Learning to drive is an important step in every teen’s life. Our Teen Driver’s Ed Program not only meets the State of Illinois’ requirements; we exceed it by providing an educational and engaging environment. Our patient instructors cover a wide array of skills preparing your teen for success with a fresh approach to driving. Teen classes include 30 hours of classroom and 8 hours of in-vehicle driving.

Classroom Attendance

Teen Driver’s Ed student must complete the 30 hours of classroom. Our schedule varies per session to help accommodate a busy schedule. Classrooms can meet anywhere from once to three times a week. A student can miss up to 4 classrooms must they must be made up.

Permits

During the classroom phase, students will be prepared to take their permit test. Parents are responsible for getting their teen to the Secretary of State’s office to take their permit test.

Behind the Wheel Sessions

Ride Chicago offers two options for the Teen Driving Classes. Our Skilled Driving Class offers 8 hours of individual driving based on the students’ availability. In our Basic Driving Class, students are required to sign up with a friend and will receive 6 hours of driving and 6 hours of observing their partner drive. They will be scheduled upon each other’s availability.

Adults

For adults ages 18+, we offer private behind the wheel instruction and our vehicle for the Illinois Road Test. Driving sessions are scheduled based on your availability in 2 hour increments, drive when it’s convenient for you! Pickup and drop off service is available for a reasonable fee (service area applies)

Licensing

Ride Chicago Driving School can provide you with the training and vehicle to successfully pass your road test at the Secretary of State facility. Graduates of our Teen Driver’s Ed or Adult Driving Lessons can participate in this program.
